Like many of you, I have set new goals for 2014 and continue to take steps every day in order to reach them.
This sounds promising on the outside, but on the inside I get thoughts that try to stray me away from working towards my goals.
… Thoughts that try to convince me that I’m not good enough to make it.
… Thoughts that tell me I don’t have what it takes to stand out and be unique.
… Thoughts that remind of my fears and bad memories of past failures in attempt to make me want to just give up.
Maybe you can relate.
How to Motivate Yourself to Push Through
This happens because our minds are basically sick… Sick in the since that we indulge in self-limiting beliefs that prevent us from doing things we want to do but maybe afraid of.
What we need is a prescription for personal growth; Taken twice per day, Once upon waking and Once before bed.
There’s a huge difference in my attitude and behavior between the days when I practice personal development and the I put it off. – these are usually the days I tend to talk myself out of working the most.
There comes a time when you have to just tell that annoying voice to just “sit down and shut the hell up!”
It may sound a little weird or extreme, but it works.
You have to get this voice under control so you can push forward to face your fears and conquer your self-limiting beliefs.
So aside from instructing your annoying “troll” like voice to sit down and be quiet, you have to keep pushing through no matter how bad things get.
Also, make time to ask yourself: Is the pain of moving forward greater than the pain of staying where you’re at?
Once you know the answer to this, it’s time to either piss or get off the pot.
When I first got started online, it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to start taking action towards building my business. I would go on working spree for a few days at a time, but never stay consistent for more than a week or so.
There wasn’t much that I could say to myself that would compel me to take action.
But when I started diving into personal development, things began to change for the better. The negative and self-limiting and beliefs were eventually dominated by positive thoughts driven by the desire for success.
Like I was talking about earlier, these thoughts will always try to come back, which is why I strongly recommend that you work on your personal growth every day.
And if you really need a nice juicy shot of motivation to give yourself a boost, you should take 3 minutes to ingest this video.
Of course if all else fails you should put yourself in a frame of mind that believes quitting is not an option. Like you have no other option but to succeed.
Sure, there will be disappointments and failures. If there weren’t, don’t you think there would be a lot more people chasing their dreams?
It’s the people that keep on trucking no matter how bad things are sucking that reach their goals and make their dreams come true.
So stay motivated and keep pushing to reach your goals, no matter who or what tries to stand in your way.
I would love to hear about your goals for 2014 and the awesome things you plan to accomplish.
